Safeguarding

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.  We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, able to talk and believe that they are being listened to.  We maintain an attitude of “it could happen here” where safeguarding is concerned.

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued, listened to, and protected. All adults working at Steep are here to ensure that pupils and their families receive the care, guidance, and reassurance they need. We operate an open-door policy, welcoming conversations and concerns so that support can be offered promptly. If you have any concerns about a child you can speak to any members of our staffing team by making an appointment through the school office.  You can also e-mail and speak directly to our safeguarding leads Vicki Mason and Tamara Leonard.
