Kingfishers Curriculum

The Circus is coming

Kingfishers’ topic this half term is all about the Circus. Kingfishers started the new school year with their classroom transformed into a Circus and they have already been learning circus skills, including juggling and spinning plates (something teachers are experts at), they will also be tasting circus treats such as candy floss and popcorn. Throughout this topic the children will learn all about the history of the circus and the different circus acts both in the past and present. In DT, they will be designing and making their own pop-up books and in science they will learn all about sound and make their own musical instrument. They will have the opportunity to develop their debating skills in English forming an opinion about whether it is right to make animals perform in the circus.
