A Step Back in Crime
As the Falcons take a 'step back in crime' they investigate crime and punishment through-out history
Part of their imersion in their main class text ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar they compare this book with the film. Their linked texts during this topic are: Murder at Twilight by Fleur Hitchcock and The Highway Man by Alfred Noyes.
During their PSHE lessons they find out about legal and illegal drugs including alcohol and tobacco and how to keep themselves safe. The opportunity to apply their science knowledge in a DT project sees them developing their woodwork and tech skills as they created a motorised police vehicle. A ‘CSI’ day, a murder mystery event and a home project challenge all make this topic as gripping a a murder mystery novel.
