Steep Curriculum
The Curriculum at Steep is carefully planned on a one or two year topic cycle to ensure that all children enjoy rich learning experiences which build on their prior knowledge, understanding and skills; and capitalise on, and broaden their interests helping them build their cultural capital. Our staff recognise that not all children learn in the same way. The teachers use a wide range of teaching strategies, making use of practical creative activities indoors and out supported by technology whenever appropriate to enhance their learning experiences. Children work in different ways either as a whole class, in groups, with partners, or independently, and the work is carefully matched to the learning needs of each child with appropriate levels of support and challenge provided by adults in each lesson.
