The Circus is Coming
Kingfishers’ started this topic with their classroom transformed into a Circus where they could learn circus skills, including juggling and spinning plates (something teachers are experts at); and taste circus treats such as candy floss and popcorn. Throughout this topic the children learnt about the history of the circus and different circus acts from the past and in the present. In DT, they designed and made their own pop-up books and in science they learnt all about sound and made their own musical instruments. They developed their debating skills in English forming an opinion about whether it is right to make animals perform in the circus.
